Sea-Salt Soulmates: A Poem

Couples stand like kings and queens on the waters’ edge,
Gripping each other’s hands desperately like roller-coaster bars.
They breathe in the tide and spit it back,
They didn’t expect love to feel like that.

It doesn’t feel nasty, it’s just so intense,
A concentrated feeling that doesn’t make sense.
As every wave gets stronger, every glance lasts longer,
The seagulls circle over to catch the events.

A crash on the rocks and a strong wind
Makes their legs tremble,
As they unite their sea-salt souls.
Their hearts beat in time with every wave that rolls.
